Software Developer

Employer Description

Growing consulting company has a position opening for a Software Developer. Junior or Senior, or somewhere in-between, we are looking for an intelligent, curious, collaborative craftsperson to join our team. 
We are a small (under 20) group of passionate software developers building applications in the diverse areas of industrial risk management, remote team collaboration, scientific data analysis, visualization and decision support. Remote work, flexible hours, competitive benefits. 

Job Description

We are willing to train you in your areas of inexperience. If you are a person passionate about software quality and user experience, and if you possess and can demonstrate expert level experience in a subset of the skills below, we are interested in hearing from you. These areas/skills are listed in rough order of priority for us.

1. Javascript / ECMAScript 
2. Electron and related technology
3. Node.js, npm, methodologies, and related packages (Express.js, request, etc)
4. Web stack standards: HTML, CSS (SASS)/backbone.js, jQuery,
5. React
6. Relational Database Development (PostgreSQL, SQLite a plus)
7. Backbone.js
8. Web build tools (Webpack, Gulp, etc)
9. D3.js, Observable
10. PhoneGap/Cordova
11. CI/CD Methodology & Tools (e.g. Jenkins)
12. Working with Containers (e.g. Docker)

Job Requirements

Core requirements (you’ll need all of these, no exceptions)
1. Strong communication skills, in English, both verbal and written
2. Willingness to endure a rigorous set of interviews and assignments to determine capability and suitability
3. Must be a strong self-starter and able to work well independently with honesty and integrity
4. Must be eligible for US employment
5. Must pass US Government background check / security clearance
