Software Support Specialist

BCMI Corp., based in Bellingham, WA, is a software development company that specializes in web and mobile solutions for the bulk construction materials industry. BCMI works closely with leading companies in the industry to develop a platform for the quote-to-cash and customer-facing business process. The software we develop is AWS cloud-based, and delivered on native iOS, Android and browser based platforms.

Job Description

The Software Support Specialist helps our customers and user base become familiar with our products and troubleshoot issues they may be having. This position is primarily responsible for resolving and/or coordinating resolution issues via our help desk. Responsibilities also include completing approved special projects, training documentation, and implementation tasks assigned to the team.

This particular role is best suited for a versatile individual and offers the opportunity to participate in Company operations and grow into a “Jack of All Trades.” This role requires a high performer willing to take initiative. The ideal candidate also has the ability to anticipate the needs of both our internal team and external customers and take action accordingly. 

The other portion of the responsibilities are as a software tester. You will be involved in the quality control stage of our software development and deployment cycles. This role requires precise attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Job Requirements
  • Quickly learn our products and how to navigate internal facing and customer facing portals
  • Respond to customer support tickets, requests, inquiries, and complaints in a professional and timely manner
  • Make outbound calls to users regarding tickets as needed
  • Triage and escalate tickets as needed
  • Assist other departments with special project tasks
  • Organize and author training materials
  • Write bug reports
  • Review design and development documentation
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve a variety of issue types
  • Present findings to software development and customer support teams
