Employer Description

Alpha Technologies Services, Inc, an EnerSys company, is seeking a Applications SW engineer 1 to join the team in Bellingham, WA.  This position will work with other application software engineers to design, develop, test and maintain existing and new Alpha software applications. Participate in project planning, requirements gathering, test planning and customer support.

 

 

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:


 Maintain and enhance existing and new software applications (web, desktop and/or mobile), including UI, web services and database development
 Add application features involving requirements gathering, detailed design and coding at all layers (UI, web services, business logic and security, database)
 Improve application usability and performance
 Participate in project planning, requirements gathering, detailed design, test planning, testing, documentation and customer support
 Assist with other software-related tasks as directed

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


Education: Bachelor Degree or equivalent military training
in field of (if applicable): software engineering or related

 

Experience: 1 to 2 years in professional software engineering or related

 

Requirements and Skills cont:

 Software application development experience (web and/or desktop applications)
 UI development experience (HTML5, JavaScript, WinForms, VB, Java, etc.)
 Experience with C#, C++, Java or VB
 SQL database development experience (SQL Server, MySql, etc.)
 Understanding of object-oriented programming, patterns, data structures and algorithms
 Ability to learn and apply new software engineering skills
 Good analytical and debugging skills
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 Professional and ethical in dealing with customers and other employees
