WECU is seeking a Network Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure team located in Bellingham, WA. This role manages in-house computer software systems, servers, storage devices and network connections to ensure availability and security of the supported business applications. This role participates in the planning and implementation of policies, standards, guidelines and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. Under the guidance of the Director of IT Infrastructure the role works with WECU’s IT Infrastructure Team to design, implement, operate, and monitor network infrastructure, and applications. The Network Administrator will maintain a reliable, secure and efficient data communications network. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment in order to ensure smooth network operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
-Design, install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, hardware, virtualization, and system management tools.
-Ensure the highest levels of applications, systems and infrastructure availability through sound design, monitoring and testing.
-Develop automation across the infrastructure and systems to increase efficiency.
-Manage virtual and physical servers with Windows Server 2012 R2 - 2019 and Linux operating systems.
-Build and deploy new servers on the network as needed.
-Manage Active Directory, Microsoft Office 365, and workstation patching.
-Manage the physical and virtual environment for WECU’s servers
-Ensure the security of the server infrastructure by implementing industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
-Develop and maintain documentation for current environment setup, standard operating procedures, and best practices.
-Manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best practices
-Routinely perform and test data backups and disaster recovery operations.
-Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and correct hardware and software issues on servers, and workstations. Escalate incidents as necessary.
-Practice server asset management, including maintenance of server component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
-Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware upgrades, patches and reconfigurations.
-Develop required reports in response to business user and management needs.
-Manage the physical environment of the server racks including cable management, documentation, labeling, and configuration of KVM switching for console and remote access.
-Participate in a 24x7 on call rotation.
-Follows policy and procedures related to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) daily to ensure compliance with current regulations. Follows policy and procedures related to SARs by reporting suspicious activity to the Compliance department. Responsible for filling out an incident report for detected computer intrusion of Credit Union computer systems per Bank Secrecy Act. Completes mandatory BSA/AML annual training via online web course.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION:
Education and Experience
-Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science preferred or equivalent relevant work experience and hardware/software certification(s).
-4+years of experience in a technical role with increasing responsibility.
-Experience with systems automation, integration, and data center infrastructure.
-Thorough understanding of Microsoft applications/infrastructure.
-Familiarity with MS SQL server, windows clustering, domain controller setup, and group policy.
-Familiarity with NAS and SAN storage management, and MS DFS.
-Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
-Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware and software issues.
-Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
-Experience with virtualization and containerization platforms.
-Experience with SIP/VOIP technologies.
-Experience with storage technologies.
-Experience working in a mixed Windows and UNIX/Linux Server environment.
-Experience managing Microsoft services (AD, Sites and Services, Group Policy, LDAP, RADIUS, PKI, WSUS).
-Understanding of change management and version control.
-Experience with configuration management software platforms.
-Strong understanding of Network Infrastructure is required
-A solid understanding of networking and core Internet protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks).
-A basic understanding of application architecture as it relates to infrastructure design (e.g. load balancing, session management).
-A basic understanding of administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of application stacks.
-Experience with monitoring platforms.
