Full-time, 40 hours per week position available, with flexible work hours.
Description of duties: Outline, draft and finalize written public relations materials. Work with internal clients and executives to create and distribute effective communications including press releases and summaries that build awareness of SPIE and interest in our offerings. Cultivate relationships with public relations offices of customers/constituents and publishers. Use available tools for distribution, tracking, and reporting of business results from communications activity.
Education & Experience Requirements: The preferred candidate has a BA/BS in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or equivalent experience; three or more years of media/public relations experience; experience in science or technology communication, professional events, international non-profit organizations and/or scientific publishing.
Compensation includes: Competitive wage, annual discretionary bonus, defined contribution retirement plan with additional company match and paid-time-off plan beginning at 31 days per year.
