This page states the "Privacy Statement" of the Technology Alliance Group (TAG) of Northwest Washington website. Please read this page carefully. Technology Alliance Group (TAG) for Northwest Washington (the "TAG", "our", "us") may revise this Privacy Statement at any time as set forth below. Users should visit this page periodically to review this Privacy Statement. The term "User" as used herein refers to all members and visitors accessing this website for any reason.  This Privacy Policy was last updated on March 26, 2012.

Please be advised that the practices described in this Privacy Statement apply only to information gathered through this Website and do not necessarily reflect our practices with respect to information gathered through other Websites that we operate or through other off-line means, including our seminars.

TAG respects the privacy of its members and other visitors to its Website. TAG strongly believes that if electronic commerce and online activities are to flourish, Users must be assured that information provided online is used responsibly and appropriately. To protect online privacy, TAG has implemented the following policy.

What Information Does TAG Collect?
Most data TAG collects is used only to help better serve its members. It is our general policy to collect and store only personal information that our members and visitors knowingly provide. If our privacy policies change, we will notify all Users by e-mail or a special announcement placed on the Website.
 
From General Users. The TAG does not collect any personal information from Users browsing its Website. Users to the public areas of TAG's Website browse anonymously. Only aggregate data -- such as the number of hits per page -- are collected. Aggregate data are only used for internal and marketing purposes and do not provide any personally identifying information.

From TAG Members, Event Registrants, and Other Customers. To gain access to members-only resources and personalization features on the TAG Website, members and other Users are asked to register and provide some limited information. This data is submitted voluntarily. TAG asks Users to provide their name, organization name, business phone, and e-mail. Similar information may be submitted to TAG through membership applications, event registration, and other registrations.

How Does TAG Use Data Collected? TAG uses information voluntarily submitted by members and other customers in the following ways:
 
TAG Member Services and Products. Generally, TAG and its direct subsidiaries use data collected to improve its own Web content; to respond to visitors' interests, needs and preferences; and to develop new products and services.

Disclosures to Third Parties. TAG also makes member contact information available through the TAG Member Directory to other members using its Website and to those who register for its meetings and events. On occasion, TAG may also provide limited data to event sponsors. These limited data include names, job titles, companies, business addresses, and e-mail addresses. Users may contact TAG at info@tagnw.org or 360-318-7710 to express their preferences if they determine later that they do not wish to have the information shared. 

Credit Card Account Information. TAG does not disclose credit card account information provided by its members and customers. When members and customers choose to pay using their credit cards, TAG submits the information needed to obtain payment to the appropriate clearinghouse.

Emergency Situations.  We may use or disclose personal information of any kind (including Credit Card Account Information), regardless of user preferences, if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to (a) conform to applicable law or comply with legal process served on us or the website; (b) protect and defend the our rights or property, the website or our users, and (c) act under emergency circumstances to protect the personal safety of us, our affiliates, agents, or the users of the website or the public.

How Does TAG Use Cookies? Cookies are files that contain information created by a web server that can be stored on a User's hard disk for use either during a particular session ("per-session" cookie) or for future use ("persistent" cookie). TAG uses cookies only to facilitate automated activity, store and track passwords, determine appropriate solicitations, and review navigation patterns. Cookies are not used to disseminate significant information about Users over the Internet or to analyze any information that Users have knowingly or unknowingly provided. If the User declines the attachment of any cookie, the User may not have access to the full benefits of the website. Registration enables the site to better determine members' interest areas and provide the most relevant information.
 
What Privacy Issues Arise With Links To Other Sites?  This Website contains links to other websites. TAG has no control over and is not responsible for the privacy policies or content of such sites.
 
Public Areas, Chat Rooms and Newsgroups Please remember that any information you share in public areas, such as resume posting areas or feedback sections, becomes public, and therefore this Privacy Statement does not apply to any information you choose to make public.  Please be careful about what you disclose and do not post any personal information that you expect to keep private.

What about information from children? TAG does not intend to collect information from children. TAG is committed to the safety of children and we do not intend to collect personally identifiable information from children under age 18. If a User is under age 18, the User should ask his or her parent for permission before sending any information to our site or anyone else online.  The User's parent should contact us directly in order to provide us with prior written consent.  TAG will not intentionally use personal information from or send communications to children under age 13 without prior parental consent.
